Coaches needed: 1 (Girls 6th-8th)

Tulsa Legacy Charter School (TLCS) coaches are more than coaches of a sport, and more than team managers. They help transform childrens’ lives by creating opportunities in athletics and contribute to our scholars’ brighter futures. We are seeking coaches who will make the commitment to coach with determination, integrity and purpose, embodying these essential qualities:

Essential Qualities and Skills

• Previous experiences and actions reflect a commitment to the TLCS mission, vision, core values

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.

• A passion and ability to take initiative, build, and sustain the TLCS model in a fast-paced environment

• Reflection, self-awareness and adaptability to communication and work styles of others, including coaches and stakeholders outside of the immediate Tulsa Legacy community

• Critical thinking and problem solving

• Belief in the power of collaboration and proactive desire to build a collaborative culture with TLCS network, community, staff, families and scholars

Job Functions

• Coach kids that represent varied backgrounds

• Commit to being present at all practices and games.

• Communicate and enforce high expectations and standards for behavior and academic performance to maintain a strong culture of achievement and respect.

• Maintain a safe and productive environment for athletes to learn and develop.

  
  

Requirements

• Previous playing experience in the sport applied for.

• Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and exceptional interpersonal skills

• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged youth, preferably in an urban setting

• Ability to communicate and problem solve in all situations

• Must be able to commit to at least 3 after school practices per week during the preseason and season

• Willingness to travel to away games
