Location Description

The Biddeford School Department is a public, K-12 school system. Its elementary schools are arranged by grade level team. Biddeford Middle School (BMS) is also arranged by team, but following two years of planning, BMS is establishing a STEM Academy-”a school within a school” with its own wing, a team of specially-trained teachers, unique-to-Maine curriculum, and specialized equipment. BHS is a comprehensive high school offering nearly 120 courses. It too is starting a STEM program which integrates vertically with BMS and partners with post-secondary institutions to allow well-prepared students an opportunity to matriculate either as sophomores in a baccalaureate program, or as having completed year one of a 1-1-2 HS/AA/BS model. This model allows qualifying high school seniors to earn the equivalent of their first year of community college in high school. The Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT) provides career and technical education for students from Biddeford, Kennebunk Old Orchard Beach high schools and Thornton Academy to access hands-on learning, career pathways, articulated college credit with Maine's post-secondary institutions, national industry certifications, employability skills, safety training and technical preparation.
In addition, the Biddeford School Department provides a variety of athletic programs, including football, cheerleading, field hockey, golf, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, track and field, lacrosse and tennis. The music and arts programs include chorus, band, theater, drama and a variety of extracurricular clubs for students to become involved. We plan to expand these educational opportunities through a Sports Management pathway and Visual and Performing Arts pathway. Learn more about us...
