General Summary:
The position will play a key role in the Academy, that hosts in-person and online continuing education to learners across the globe. The Academy Marketing and Program Manager will run the Academy’s marketing program including stewardship of our distribution list, email and social campaigns, course programs, digital catalog and print ads. This person will write copy as well as fine-tune the appropriate messaging and timing to reach our audience all while complying with the regulatory requirements and brand standards of our programs. Market research, competitive surveys, and analysis of key marketing metrics will be regularly conducted to keep the Academy messaging relevant to our audience. For Academy courses, the Academy Marketing and Program Manager will design and edit programs in InDesign, and support in-person events as needed. This person will serve as the main liaison between the Academy team and the hospital’s marketing team.

Principal Responsibilities:
The Academy Marketing and Program Manager will:
- Oversee marketing program for the Academy including email, print, social, designing materials and writing copy.
- Collect data and review analytics about campaign performance and finetune copy, timing, etc. to better tailor program to reach our global audience.
- Align all materials with both the regulatory requirements and internal brand standards.
- Develop course programs and support marketing and event logistics for courses, requiring close collaboration with the team and attention to detail.
- Conduct focus groups and interviews with learners
- Create an informed, annual marketing plan factoring in changes in our target audience’s behavior and new markets or programs that are launched
- Support logistics planning for select, strategic Shirley Ryan AbilityLab events including working with event owners to create and manage project timelines, budgets, and run-of-show program details.
- Help manage, as available, all event logistics on-site, including coordination with catering, facilities and security teams, event production, speakers, event staff, and additional activities, as applicable.
- Support event-related sourcing and contracting processes, including catering, transportation, and audio-visual services.
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Reporting Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Executive Director of the external Academy
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience with communication, marketing and event planning.
- Experience with an email automation tool, and creative design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to clearly communicate in writing and verbally.
- Ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and maturity; able to remain calm while working with shifting priorities and deadlines essential.
- Proficient with MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- A self-starter who is able to work independently and prioritize work.
