Big D Floor Covering Supplies is a leading wholesale supplier to the flooring installation trade. We have 30 locations in five States and are still growing. We’re currently looking for an Outside Sales Account Executive for our Los Angeles territory. The ideal candidate is consistent, energetic and willing to learn. We work in a fast-paced wholesale warehouse/retail environment serving flooring installation contractors.
In this position, you will maintain relationships with current customers while working to expand your client base. At Big D, we are very service oriented. This means that our Account Executives have a two-fold goal—building sales revenue while ensuring customers receive the best possible service with every interaction. Our commitment to excellence also means our Sales Team is continuously learning about our business and products in order to provide top-tier information and assistance to all customers.
This role requires daily commuting to customer work sites and business locations. While you will use your personal vehicle, the Company provides a monthly allowance to offset the associated costs.

Job Requirements:
· Must have legal right or authorization to work in the United States
· Must have high school diploma or equivalent (Ex: GED)
· Must have basic computer skills
· Must have reliable transportation
· Must have current, valid driver license
· Must provide proof of current automobile liability insurance
Additional qualities considered an advantage:
· Knowledge of or experience in the flooring installation trade
· Sales experience in retail or wholesale environment
· Bi-lingual in Spanish
· Attention to detail
Core Job Duties
· Maintain a current and detailed customer file
· Maintain an up-to-date and ever-growing account list
· Maintain an acceptable gross profit margin for the assigned territory
· Maintain year-over-year growth for the assigned territory
· Make appropriate number of sales calls to ensure that all assigned customers are seen in person at least once a month, twice if they display our products
· Sample and sell an appropriate mix of products to meet customer needs while maintaining an acceptable profit margin
· Negotiate, establish, and maintain pricing for customers
· Ensure that customers are well stocked with appropriate samples and literature
· Provide technical resource information to customers regarding our products
· Establish, maintain, and follow up on a “special job quote” file (SJQ). Keep the master SJQ file up to date
· Assist the Accounting Department to aid in dispute resolution and collections when necessary
· Attend at least one continuing education forum monthly (must meet criteria established by Management for Sales Dept)
