Do you love working with numbers? Our agency is seeking a skilled Accounting Clerk in our New Iberia office to perform accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Applicants must have knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures and able to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounting and clerical functions of the accounting department
  • Process invoices and perform all duties of accounts payable
  • Record journal entries and daily worksheet transactions
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements in a timely manner
  • Provide assistance and support to company personnel
  • Research and resolve general ledger discrepancies
  • Record and maintain fixed assets
  • Record, maintain and disburse seized asset forfeitures

Requirements:

  • Accounting experience preferred
  • Familiar with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Well organized
  • Ability to handle office equipment (e.g., telephone system, printer, scanner, copier and fax machine)
  • High school diploma is required
