JOB OVERVIEW:

The Accounting Generalist will report to the Accounting Manager and ensure RTI's finance and accounting activities are accurate, timely, and in compliance with the IRS and the company's rules . Experience with hotel accounting and night audit experience preferred as well as experience with Microsoft office, especially excel. Detail oriented is highly desired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Accounting Office

Job involves working:

  • Under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
  • Under variable noise levels.
  • Outdoors/indoors.
  • Around fumes and/or odor hazards.
  • Around dust and/or mite hazards.
  • Around chemicals.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

1. 2+ years accounting experience in a hotel.

2. Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

3. Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.

4. Provide legible communication and directions.

6. Ability to:

  • perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • prioritize, organize and follow up.
  • be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
  • follow directions thoroughly.
  • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • work with minimal supervision.
  • maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Desirable:

1. College degree.

2. Previous hotel experience

3. Certification of previous training in computers

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:


Essential:

1. Exert physical effort in transporting boxes 5 pounds to 25 pounds.

2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.

3. Reach 5.5 inches/feet.

4. Remain in stationary position for 6 to 8 hours throughout work shift.

5. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Pick-up, count, and maintain bank, keeping it secure at all times.

2. Operate P.M.S. (Property Management System) and maintain security of the system.

3. Verify all checks are closed, and closes and logs any open check in the P.O.S. (Point of Sale) system.

4. Verify Cashier’s Report to drop log and paperwork.

5. Run end of day program and close day.

6. Review Night Audit checklist and verify that all work has been completed.

Pay is commensurate with experience, starting at $26.00 per hour.
