All Credit Union positions are subject to audio and/or video surveillance. All computer and voice transmissions are subject to review by management personnel. All employees have access to confidential information - therefore each employee/each position accepts the responsibility to protect that information by following all Credit Union policies and procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY: Accurate and timely general accounting functions following established policies and procedures. Scheduled for 25 - 35 hours per week depending on work volume and staffing.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurate and timely posting of accounting entries.
- Review daily ACH and check posting exception report; research member accounts and take appropriate action based on established procedures.
- Process FRB returned item cash letters following established procedures.
- Post Federal Reserve Bank/member adjustments (reclamations).
- Process Check Adjustments from FRB and Collection items from other institutions in a timely manner.
- Daily and monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts involving negotiable items.
- Maintain assigned sub-ledgers.
- May be responsible for reconciling and processing insurance billing and ACH Returns and Origination.
- Process daily wires and cash orders and handle stop payments and voids on corporate checks.
- Compile data for periodic reports.
- Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Basic accounting classes; good reading, writing and math skills.
EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years experience in an automated accounting environment (preferably financial institution).
SKILLS & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:10‑key by touch, accurate data entry; working knowledge of automated spreadsheets and word processing; good communication skills; attention to detail/accuracy; conscientious follow‑through; able to meet frequent deadlines; able to locate discrepancy and identify cause. Should be tactful, diplomatic and self-motivated. Must demonstrate a positive attitude, be flexible and an effective team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
CONTACTS: Little or no member contact; continuous interaction with accounting staff; regular contact with Managers, Supervisors and branch staff; occasional contact with outside vendors.
SUPERVISION: Receives regular supervision regarding direction and guidance on assignments.
MONETARY IMPACT: Errors have direct monetary impact to Members and the Credit Union; therefore, accuracy is critical and required. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations and are normally confined to a single group or phase of credit union activities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.74 - $30.72 per hour
