Summary of Position:

Provides direct care to the residents, following the needs of the residents, treating each resident with dignity and respect, recognizing individual needs and encouraging self-independence. Promoting a warm, homelike atmosphere throughout the residency.

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

• Researches any craft ideas to be carried out by residents.
• Changes activity board per season, holiday, or informational idea.
• Leads activities on the monthly calendar as created by Life Enrichment Coordinator
• Assists in gathering information for monthly newsletter
• Assists in planning activities for the residents
• Assists with assessing residents activity preferences and interests
• Maintains and inventories activity supplies and equipment
• Informs residents and staff of changes to activities planned.
• Informs head cook if food is needed for an activity.
• Informs all individuals of any changes in planned schedules.
• Follows departmental procedures regarding safety issues.
• Maintains a positive, encouraging attitude with all involved.
• Attend a monthly staff meeting facilitated by Life Enrichment Director
