Position: Adjunct Nursing Instructors

Position Description:

The School of Nursing at Avila University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions for online instruction for various courses for our two new online programs.

• Online courses include, but are not limited to, pathophysiology, health assessment, pharmacology, EBP, Health and Illness, Women and Children Health, and Power, Politics and Policy.
• Apply dynamic teaching methods to current course offerings and develop a curriculum in strategic communication strategies.
  
• Assign grades and assess student progress, potential and achievement in concrete, understandable ways to ultimately help each student progress toward their degree.
• Lecture and teach the material presented in the course syllabus and outline in a professional and engaging manner.
• Maintain appropriate records in an organized, efficient manner for every individual class taught, and have this information available for students at all times.
• Cultivate Avila’s mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph through word and action.
• Recognize, celebrate, and support a wide variety of cultures and unique differences among Avila’s students.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in nursing
  • BSN degree with concurrent enrollment in a Master’s in nursing program may be considered.
• PhD, DNP, or EdD in nursing for graduate level courses
  • MSN degree with concurrent enrollment in a doctorate nursing program may be considered
• Prior online instruction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Canvas LMS or similar computer classroom management system.
• Missouri nursing license required.
