Position: Adjunct Nursing Instructors
Position Description:
The School of Nursing at Avila University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions for online instruction for various courses for our two new online programs.
- Online courses include, but are not limited to, pathophysiology, health assessment, pharmacology, EBP, Health and Illness, Women and Children Health, and Power, Politics and Policy.
- Apply dynamic teaching methods to current course offerings and develop a curriculum in strategic communication strategies.
- Assign grades and assess student progress, potential and achievement in concrete, understandable ways to ultimately help each student progress toward their degree.
- Lecture and teach the material presented in the course syllabus and outline in a professional and engaging manner.
- Maintain appropriate records in an organized, efficient manner for every individual class taught, and have this information available for students at all times.
- Cultivate Avila’s mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph through word and action.
- Recognize, celebrate, and support a wide variety of cultures and unique differences among Avila’s students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing
- BSN degree with concurrent enrollment in a Master’s in nursing program may be considered.
- PhD, DNP, or EdD in nursing for graduate level courses
- MSN degree with concurrent enrollment in a doctorate nursing program may be considered
- Prior online instruction experience preferred.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Canvas LMS or similar computer classroom management system.
- Missouri nursing license required.
