The Healthcare Quality and Compliance Associate provides technical and administrative support to the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Population Health and Quality.
Responsibilities:
Assist Corporate Compliance Officer and Director of Population Health and Quality in overseeing and monitoring the Corporate Compliance Program.
Check debarment records on all new employees and new members of the board of directors monthly and maintains a system of queries for established employees and board members according to company policy.
Assist with conducting audits and utilizes software systems to generate reports using Excel and other databases.
Assist in responding to internal and external (government) inquires, audits, site visits and reports (UDS and PCMH).
Receive and log incident reports and distributes according to established procedure. Prepares incident trending report quarterly.
Maintain confidentiality of audit results, incident reports and other proprietary information.
Prepare peer review documents for medical and dental departments, distribute forms to medical and dental providers. Collect and tallies results.
Provide support to the Corporate Compliance Officer in the creation and maintenance of the Compliance policy manual and corporate intranet.
Assist with care coordination efforts, including care gap closures, patient mailings and other activities to help the population, medical record and referral department as needed and as time allows.
Assist and prepare for meetings. This includes reserving the conference room, making sure computer equipment is available and ready, preparing and distributing the agenda and other documents, and taking meeting minutes.
Provide backup to the receptionist desk and helps with mail distribution and other receptionist duties when providing coverage.
Responsible for filing and logging contacts and other business-related documents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in healthcare administration, health information technology, or similar degree with two years of experience working in an administrative support role.
Must have working knowledge of HIPAA, electronic health record systems, medical terminology, and be familiar with the concepts of risk management and quality.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and by telephone, with medical professionals, third party vendors, and patients.
Proven computer skills required for the production of correspondence, forms, reports, and spreadsheets.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Physical Requirements:
Majority of the time spent sitting, occasional bending, stooping, and computer use. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day.
