Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).


This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Administration. This position is located at 116 W Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.

The Department of Administration, Fiscal Management Office, is seeking applicants for an Office Assistant position. The employee will mainly work on a project to convert paper documents to digital copies. Additionally, the position will perform a variety of administrative duties.

Job Duties:
  • Scanning, and saving records in a designated SharePoint folder.
  • Receives, opens, stamps, and sorts all incoming mail, makes a determination of proper distribution among office staff.
  • Separates organizes and mails approximately 500 checks each week, assuring that backup documentation is attached to the check before being mailed.
  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Works with various Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Other administrative duties, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
