Job description
This Administrative Specialist I is located in Internal Audit with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety and performs functions in two primary areas: 1) Audit Review and Reporting and 2) Office Administration.
Specific responsibilities related to Audit Review and Reporting include:
- Participating in the audit report process by reviewing all audit reports to assist with ensuring proper format, clarity, accuracy, consistency, and overall readability.
- Updating weekly reports provided to the director to track audits requested, in process and completed to assist with timely reporting.
- Ensuring all audit reports are published and forwarded to the OSBM IA Office as required and oversees receipt of departmental SBI reports for processing.
Specific responsibilities related to Office Administration include:
- Assisting with performing HR functions related to job posting, hiring, terminations, interviewing, time reporting, etc.
- Processing E-procurement, preparing direct purchases and managing fixed asset inventory process for the section.
- Assisting with monitoring section’s budget and provides director feedback as needed.
- Assisting with performing a variety of task associated with the receipt and processing of purchases, preparation of audit packages, formatting audit reports, maintaining audit files, monitoring office supplies, obtaining and entering vehicle mileage, processing Ebills, reviewing and submitting all travel reimbursement requests to Fiscal, etc.
The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8am -5pm.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

Office clerical/administrative experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience performing Human Resources duties.

- Experience preparing and reviewing letters and/or reports.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;
or
equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay: $35,788.00 - $62,628.00 per year
