The Exchange Club’s Family Center of the Central Piedmont, a non-profit, child abuse prevention and treatment agency, is actively seeking a full-time counselor to work in our Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment program. The main duties are to provide counseling to teens and their families in our Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment program. The counseling for the ASAT program occurs only in Alamance County. The candidate will be a NC Certified Substance Abuse Counselor certification with experience working with at-risk families and adolescents and substance use. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and email servers, office machinery, and general computer skills required. We are looking for candidates that have an attention to detail, organizational and multitasking abilities, reliability and strong work ethic, ability to work independently, professionalism in working with participants, employees, and community representatives, quality oral and written skills, and ability to solve complex problems under deadlines. Group facilitation and counseling skills are required. Duties included: responsible for facilitating 3–15-week group counseling sessions on substance use treatment issues with adolescents, psychoeducational sessions with parents, and direct provision of in-home counseling sessions with families to ensure success of the treatment goals. Other responsibilities include participation in the daily activities of a non-profit such as intake, on-call emergency rotation, clinical staffing, community awareness events, and fundraising activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $39,500.00 per year
