Xposure Foundation is a 3x, 12x New York Emmy® nominated Life skills based, STEAM infused, and project based after school program. Our mission is to expose children and people of all ages to the worlds of science, technology, finance, employment/work ethic, fitness/nutrition, community service and stronger parent/child partnerships.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for flexible, vibrant and creative ELA/Math Teachers with an array of skills to join our growing team. If you enjoy using your skills to create an engaging, hands-on environment where our K- 8th graders can enjoy learning, then Xposure Foundation Inc is the place for you.

Role Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans
• Teach students ELA and Math in groups or individually.
• Be open to mindful and progressive ways to educate and empower youth.
• Develop resources to teach students to build ELA and Math skills.
• Evaluate students to measure skill progression and determine improvement areas.
• Coordinate with other tutors, teachers and skill building staff to offer engaging activities that promote overall child wellness
• Ensure high attendance through announcements, flyers, article submission and presentations.
• Support students to develop and meet academic goals.
• Help students to prepare for tests.
• Record and report student progress.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Finish and submit necessary documents.
• Develop relationship with students to build retention and improve academic success
• Formulate and execute an educational plan for success and improvement in areas of ELA and Math
• Foster an atmosphere of fun learning: organize, lead, and promote the students interest and participation in the activities.
• Use a variety of applications and platforms; including social media to lead activities.
• Understand, adhere, and enforce Xposure expectations, policies, and protocols.
• Conducting him/herself in the utmost professional manner and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Maintain safety and security for our students.

For in person roles:

• Plan numerous trips and outdoor events adhering to social distancing guidelines for students.
• As we transition into “In -Person” Protect against the spread of COVID19 Ensure following guidelines from NYS DOHMH, OCFS , CDC and OSHA

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, education/outreach or equivalent experience.
• Teacher certification required
• At least 1 years experience (not TESOL certified),
• Tech Savvy
• Be proficient in: General Education, Middle and High School ELA and Math
• Knowledge of and experience in working school setting or community-based organizations, government agencies, local department of social services sites, city-wide coalitions helpful.
• Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with persons who have different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and work well independently as well as part of a team.
• Fingerprinting complete background check
• Consent to random COVID testing
• Physical and TB required for all applicants

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Afternoon shift
• After school
• Monday to Friday
