The City of Idaho Falls is accepting applications for an Airport Parking and Operations Specialist for the Idaho Falls Airport. This position performs a variety of general and skilled duties related to the Airport parking lots including operations, maintenance, and ticketing and revenue collections. Complies with and adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures.

Implements and follows all established Standard Operating Procedures, which includes facilitating all customers in and out of all the parking facilities. Follows all City and Airport policies and procedures and all State law in handling and safeguarding payments. Maintains complete and accurate records and adheres to all revenue controls. Count and track parked vehicles in lots and track entries and exits for reporting and revenue control purposes. Greets and interacts with customers in professional manner in keeping with airport and city standards. Assists customers with questions, concerns, or issues and to provide excellent customer service.

Assists Airport staff in the maintenance of the parking lots including the parking equipment. Ensures all parking equipment is functioning normally which includes, ticket, receipts, and printing equipment refills as needed and or directed. Plow snow in parking lots and walkways including pathways to terminal doors utilizing pickup trucks and atvs. Troubleshoot any issues with main parking lot equipment and assist with the equipment in the remote lot. Ensures the parking lots are kept free of litter, debris and other issues that affect customer experience and safety.

Ensures airport customers comply with TSA and all airport regulations, and park in appropriate / approved locations. Assist, as directed, in any emergency and medical incidents to ensure customer safety and first responders have clear and unimpeded access.

Communicates with Parking Supervisor of any safety or security concerns and provides information to Supervisor on all incidents as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.

Performs other duties as required. This position will also be expected to evolve as the parking needs of the Airport change.

1. Education and Experience:

A. Graduation from high school or GED; AND B. One (1) year of experience in customer service including exposure to data entry, receipting, cash balancing, and cash handling; OR C. An equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of cash handling, payment processing, and safe-guarding receipts; working knowledge of standard office equipment; working knowledge of traffic laws; working knowledge of snow removal; some knowledge in road maintenance. Knowledge of Idaho Falls and surrounding area to provide customer service in finding locations around town, places to stay and eat, etc.

Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with administrative staff, fellow employees, and public; basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to troubleshoot parking equipment issues; ability to work in all seasons and types of weather; ability to operate vehicles with plows including pickup trucks and atvs.

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and follow all product safety and airport material handling procedures.

3. Special Qualifications:

Must possess a valid State of Idaho driver's license.

Works inside and outside, with periodic exposure to inclement weather. Tasks require a variety of physical activities periodically involving muscular strain related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting and reaching. Essential functions require talking, hearing and seeing. Work with a variety of customers and with mental application utilizes memory for details, emotional stability and discriminating thinking. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform essential functions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally is exposed to exhaust and fumes, loud noises, and other sights and sounds normal for outside an airport.
