APPRENTICESHIP for Certified HVAC Testing and Balancing Technician
Job description
This is an opportunity to get into a specialized field within the commercial HVAC industry. In our trade we use the systematic process of measuring, adjusting and balancing all components of the HVAC mechanical system to ensure that they are performing to the design intent and operate at an optimum level. Tidewater Air Balance, Inc. is one of the fastest growing test and balance firms in Virginia. Tidewater Air Balance is seeking apprentice candidates for it's HVAC Testing and Balancing Technician position. We are looking for candidates that are looking for a career and willing to grow with our company.
This apprenticeship is approved by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry. The Air & Hydronic Balancing Technician Apprenticeship program includes 3 years of on-the-job training and related technical instruction.
Pay increases after each year of apprenticeship with final journeyworker card and nationally recognized TAB Technician Certification at the end of the program. Successful apprentices will see a $7.50 increase in pay spread out over the 3 year program. $22.00 per hour minimum for a Certified Technician.
Candidate must be professionally focused, career minded with strong work ethic. Candidate must be able to work independently. Good math skills are a plus. Good communication skills are a plus. Commercial HVAC, duct installation, or DDC controls experience is a plus.
No criminal history required. Must be able to obtain security clearance for military facilities, courthouses, public schools, etc.
Good driving record required. Must be able to be approved for company insurance policy.
