Job/Department Summary:

Working independently, under the general direction of the department head, the Archives Specialist performs complex, specialized technical and paraprofessional library duties and manages the digitization processes and procedures used to preserve and make accessible the maps, documents, and photographs in the special collections. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining digital collections, to support the teaching and learning mission of the university, as well as providing reference and instruction services to enable the discovery and access to collection materials. Additionally, this position provides lead work direction to other library and clerical staff, as well as student workers, and may assist in supporting the unit's other administrative activities.

Mandatory Vaccinations:

The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:

  • Bilingual.
  • A degree in library science or archives is preferred.
  • Experience working with digital, archival, or special collections is preferred.
  • A master’s degree in a job-related field is preferred.

Required Education and Experience:

The above qualifications are normally obtained through the completion of a high school education or equivalent certification PLUS three years of related library and/or clerical experience, a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
AND
One year of job related library or archives experience.

Time Base: Full-time


Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary and Benefits Information:

$3,775 - $6,960 per month / $45,300 - $83,520 annually (Initial placement within the salary range for new employees is contingent upon education and experience).

This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).
