Assistant Director Position Job Description - Texas Rising Star

Qualifications:
Texas Rising Star experience preferred.

Must have higher education greater than a high school diploma, (ex CDA, Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree), in Child Development or Family Service area.

Must already possess or be working toward a Texas Directors Credential Program Certificate in Child Care.

Preparation must include at least two years of successful experience in a licensed care facility. Must have current, or be willing to acquire: Food Manager Certificate, CPR, and First Aid Certificates.

Must maintain a current drivers license with clean driving record, and a cleared background check through T.D.P.R.S.

Reports To: Director(s) and/or Board Administrators

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure staff compliance with Texas Department of Family Protective Services and facility policies and procedures.

2. Meet all requirements from local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
3. Assist in recruiting, training, supervising, and terminating employees.
4. Supervise and assist in developing and supervising the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
5. Supervise the maintenance of a safe and healthy learning environment.
6. Supervise and assist in planning, preparation, and serving of all meals and snack.
7. Supervise and assist in the care of the maintenance of the facility as a whole.
8. Serve as a resource for parents.
9. Involve parents in the care and education of their children.
10. Assist in enrolling children and conducting parents(s) guardian orientations and tours.
11. Promote and monitor safe activities.
12. Assist in developing center policies, public relation events, staff training, and fundraisers.
13. Participate in professional development activities.
14. Attend and assist in the planning and running of staff meetings.
15. Assist in monitoring that staff members receive mandated yearly training hours.
16. Ensure employee staff and student files are up-to-date Work shifts as assigned by site Director(s) to ensure coverage and compliance. (This includes classroom coverage as needed.) When working closing shifts, ensure that all closing responsibilities are completed prior to leaving for the day.
17. Manage center with owner directed budget.
18. Assist in driving / transporting children to or from school, field trips, and community events in facility vehicle.
19. Assist in purchasing facility supplies, equipment or groceries as needed.
20. Learn and manage CRISP (food) program to ensure compliance with rules and capture of funds.
21. Learn SmartCare program and provide support for SmartCare functions.
22. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director(s) and/or Board of Administrators.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
