The University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNE COM), Office of Recruitment, Student and Alumni Services (RSAS) is an energetic, innovative, student-centered office that serves the broader college community. Located on the coastal Biddeford Campus, the RSAS team serves prospective and current students as well as a vast alumni network by providing a hub of administrative support and resources throughout the medical education continuum.

The Recruitment Team is charged with identifying and evaluating candidates that align with the College’s Mission, Vision and Core Values. It is a particularly exciting time at UNE COM as the college prepares for a move to a new, state-of-the-art facility on our Portland Campus in 2024.
The Recruitment team is a pivotal component of the move as we are responsible for the marketing, communication and campus visit experience for all prospective students and their families leading up to the start of classes in 2024.

Reporting to and working with the Director of COM Recruitment, the Assistant Director of Operations (ADO) is a key player working to assess, strategize, and execute on our recruitment and enrollment management goals. The Assistant Director works in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Recruitment, Student and Alumni Services and other Recruitment team members. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and managing all aspects of UNE COM recruitment operations, compiling and reporting out enrollment data, and supervising a team of admissions readers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the maintenance of inquiry generators, online profiles and their individual campaigns through the Enrollment Marketing Platform (EMP).
  • Manage in the maintenance and coordination of the virtual interview platform, Kira Talent Solutions.
  • Obtains and maintains knowledge of systems that are used for the application review process, including WebAdmit, and other UNE COM specific tools.
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of online recruitment-related content including surveys, forms.
  • Creation of content appropriate for prospective UNE COM students, current UNE COM students, UNE COM Alumni or other relevant audiences like Pre-Health Advisors (via email, letters, text, social posts).
  • Maintain online recruitment event calendar and UNE COM event registration forms and surveys (example: OsteoBlast! Orientation and Accepted Students Days)
  • Manage the development, periodic review, and updating of the Recruitment and Alumni webpages and SharePoint sites.
  • Work with campus stakeholders to collect and maintain enrollment data, visit tracking, and alumni outcomes for recruitment purposes.
  • Assist in the development of reports, queries, and analytics to determine outreach efforts, ROI, and new student behavior.
  • Work with campus stakeholders to ensure communication aligns with the mission, vision and core values of the college as well as the needs of prospective students in underrepresented groups, including but not limited to first-generation, lower socioeconomic, ethnic minority, second-career seekers, and returning students.
  • Hire, train and supervise a team of admissions application reviewers annually that review applications for fit, motivation, initiative, leadership potential, work/life experience, extracurricular activities, socioeconomic status, disabilities, educational/personal hardship and other institution priorities identified by the UNE COM Committee on Admissions and Administration like osteopathic desire and orientation.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Skill and sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion as they affect the college admissions process; a demonstrated commitment to building a strong and diverse applicant pool, and an awareness of how systemic economic and racial inequity in students’ secondary school backgrounds impacts their application to college.
  • Appreciation for and understanding of highly selective medical school admissions process
  • Generally informed about the college application process
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work with sensitive information and exercise good judgment under pressure
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment that requires one to be able to work both effectively and efficiently independently and with a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to apply institutional priorities in accordance with provided training.
  • Ability to internalize feedback and quickly adapt to suggested modifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills and internet connection
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.


Preferred qualities:
  • Master’s Degree
  • Prior Admissions experience
  • Prior CRM experience
