Be a part of something that makes people happy! We are a wholesale greenhouse growing flowering and tropical foliage houseplants shipping throughout the Midwest. The ideal candidate will have a degree in biology/botany/horticulture.

• Able to follow instructions closely and repeat daily tasks.
• Not directly responsible for crops.
• Share watering responsibilities with Supervising Grower once adequately trained.
• Able to operate all irrigation systems in assigned sections.
• Willing and able to apply pesticides, fungicides, growth regulators, and other chemicals when necessary.
• Able to help mix fertilizers and properly use portable injection equipment.
• Available to help on weekends and even assume some weekend responsibilities when ready.
• Needs to show consistent improvement and become a reliable and independent member of the growing staff.
• Have experience and training of 1 year in growing crops.
• Shares responsibility for crops and general upkeep and appearance of the section with Supervising Grower.
• Must be motivated to become a Grower through training and work experience.
• Able to prioritize daily workload and effectively manage their time.
• Able to effectively water and fertilize crops without direct supervision.
• Able to monitor crop pH and EC.
• Must be a pesticide applicator.
• Able to make minor repairs to irrigation systems (e.g., cleaning filters, repairing hose ends, changing bad drippers).
• Must be able and willing to handle weekend responsibilities.
• Able to monitor insect populations and understand comprehensive IPM programs.
• Able to send samples for tissue/media nutritional analysis and samples for pests and diseases.
• Exhibits a proactive approach to growing and strives to maintain the highest crop quality possible
