The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Assistant Program Director, ND-PEP Alumni and Re-entry.

The Center for Social Concerns (CSC), an academic institute within the University of Notre Dame, is currently hiring for an exciting opportunity of ND-PEP, Assistant Program Director of Alumni and Reentry Services.

The ND-PEP Initiative (Programs for Education in Prisons) is an initiative housed under the The Center for Social Concerns, and is comprised of multiple ND units which provides strategic, administrative, programmatic and financial support to various higher education efforts within Indiana prisons. Under the ND-PEP umbrella are collaborations with the Moreau College Initiative (MCI), a program sponsored by Holy Cross College, and the Women's College Partnership (WCP), a program run by Marion University, while partnering with the Bard Prison Initiative.

The ND-PEP assistant program director will support current MCI and WCP students and alumni with career development and employment skills as they reenter or prepare to reenter the workforce in the northern Indiana region through the following main areas of responsibility:

Career Development: Create and provide career development services to all degree-seeking students to help them prepare for employment upon graduation. (e.g. seminars, workshops, 1-1 consultation, etc.)

Re-entry Services: Create and provide reentry support for MCI students to aid in proactive and comprehensive planning before release. Examples:
  • employment, maintain and grow employment opportunities/network; develop reentry and alumni support services network
  • develop and maintain an alumni database to support evaluation of reentry/alumni success
  • develop and maintain a working relationship with IDOC to support successful reentry

Community Partnerships: Building relationships and a knowledge base in the northern Indiana region that will help MCI and WCP graduates rejoin their communities after release. Examples:
  • Develop employer network within assigned territory
  • Establish industry partners who can mentor our students into successful employment.
  • Network with other institutions focused on education in prison in an effort to create and implement best-practices.

This position will collaborate with ND-PEP team members including colleagues within the MCI and WCP programs as well as the research program manager.

This is a limited term position (through June 30, 2025) - extension contingent upon funding.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years experience
  • Demonstrated ability to seek out and build community partnerships
  • Ability to communicate with multiple and diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and with teams
  • Ability to travel to prison locations in Indiana with a minimum of one-day/week on Prisons satellite campus.
  • Project management skills, detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google Suites
  • Drivers license



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Prior experience working in prison education and with reentry support
  • Public speaking and higher education experience
