Assistant Purchasing Clerk

Plywood Supply Inc – Kenmore, WA

ABOUT THIS ROLE: We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Purchasing Department team as a full-time Assistant. This role bridges multiple departments including sales, production, receiving and accounting. This role helps keep customer service running smoothly, while providing opportunities to support daily purchasing functions.

Responsibilities include:

• Ordering and Tracking of Special Orders.
• Data entry of incoming and outgoing merchandise in a timely manner into bisTrack software program.
• Verifying receiving matches purchase order quantities and specifications
• Checks and records the quantity of the merchandise for conformity to purchase orders and specifications.
• Records and reports shortages and discrepancies.
• Communicates efficiently and concisely over the phone, in person and through e-mail to coordinate orders, returns, rejections and credits.
• Communicate with Vendors, our sales team and yard personnel
• Support Purchasing Department and other duties as directed by the Purchasing Manager.

What you will need to Succeed:

• Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and complete tasks timely
• Self-motivated and a strong communicator
• Understanding of basic inventory receiving paperwork.
• Strong computer skills
• Experience working with bisTrack and/or Great Plains software a plus
• Ability to work with others
