Effectiveness in this role requires a unique blend of knowledge and skills, while providing exposure to virtually all asset classes and asset valuation models, plus all production processes and content requirements as driven by Investments Front Office, Finance, ERM, Treasury, Actuarial, and others.
As the Assistant Vice President, Research & Investment Analytics you will focus on applied quantitative methods, in combination with effective process, operations, and controls. This role requires significant prior or proven experience in either fixed income asset modeling, fixed income analytics, or fixed income market risk and/or credit risk.
Business Intelligence software (PowerBI), statistical software (R Studio), and programming skills are beneficial. Direct experience with Blackrock Aladdin is a big plus.
We want to hear from you today if you can:

  • Coordinate and respond to inquiries from consumers of analytics.
  • Support development or maintenance of documentation for processes, procedures, or controls.
  • Perform reviews of inputs and outputs to ensure quality and coverage, and results that are consistent with each economic scenario. Requires ability to understand sensitivity of models and cashflows to risk factor and/or scenario inputs, plus ability to diagnose suspected or actual problems.
  • Participate in transition of IBOR and ABOR to Blackrock Aladdin, including design, testing, implementation, and parallel periods required prior to full production, and continue to operate internal models as needed.
  • Participate in redesign of governed processes and associated SOX/MAR controls. Participate in continuous process improvements and other enhancements to processes or platforms applied in asset modeling and projections
  • Participate in review of processes, operations, controls, change management, and outputs by consumers, second line of defense functions (e.g., ERM, ORM, Finance Control), third line of defense functions (internal audit), and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, financial auditor such as PWC, etc.).
  • Once fully developed and knowledgeable in internal models, processes, and technologies, candidate will lead major processes, train/develop new talent, and perform personnel supervisory responsibilities.
