Corebridge Financial Investments is one of the key drivers of revenue and profitability for AIG. We manage over $335 billion in assets on behalf of Corebridge Financial, its affiliates, and third-party clients across multiple asset classes. Our investment platform spans public and private credit, real estate debt and equity, and public and private equity. The team is comprised of portfolio managers, traders, research analysts, product owners, loan originators and underwriters, and other investment professionals endeavoring to provide strong returns on our clients’ invested capital.
The Commercial Mortgage Lending (CML) department is responsible for handling multiple types of transactions including: whole loans, syndicated loans and CMBS, with deals sizes that vary significantly from $10 million to $1 billion. The team originates highly-quality mortgage loans to continue to meet the increasing demand for commercial mortgage loans.
The Associate Underwriter requires the ability to perform market research, financial statement analysis and strong written and verbal communication skills. It is a challenging and exciting role that will give this person the opportunity to be a part of a global high-functioning team.

- Review and summarize third party reports including: appraisals, engineering reports as well as understand environmental assessments, zoning letters, credit reports, background checks, credit references and legal documents.
- Independent preparation and completion of credit memos on most transactions.
- Review leases and property-level documents.
- Communicate with brokers, agents and principals to complete strategic research projects and analysis to validate underwriting assumptions.
- Conduct market research on the economy, lending market trends and real estate market research on comparable properties to determine competitive amenities, rents and sales prices using CoStar, Reis, Axiometrix and Bloomberg.
- Perform advanced valuation and cash flow analysis using Argus.
- Interact closely with the loan originators, closers, legal and portfolio management team.
What we are looking for:
- Familiarity with multiple types of transactions including: whole loans, syndicated loans and CMBS, with deals sizes that vary significantly from $10 million to $1 billion.
- BA/BS degree required with a MS in real estate a plus
- Understanding internal systems and create quarterly accounting reports of the CMBS holdings
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and quantitative skills
- Commercial Real Estate experience
- Ability to perform market research and work with property cash flow models
