JOB OVERVIEW
The agent provides services behind the counter in the handling of passenger luggage and the security of the belt. The agent is responsible for providing excellent service and customer service under the FAA and American Airlines safety rules, ensures compliance with operational and safety rules and procedures, local and international regulations and compliance with contractual obligations. It acts by ensuring that services are performed in accordance with corporate, client and regulatory agency standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
- Must be able to lift 70lbs or more
- Be able to stand, squat, kneel, and walk 70% or more of the scheduled to work time
- Be able to maintain customer service professionalism while under pressure and stressful environment
- Ask passengers if they are in possession of any of the following items: knives, cutting instruments of any kind, box cutters, carpet cutters, folding or retractable blades of any size or composition, etc
- Stand for several hours at a time.
- Must be able to read airline boarding pass
- Always be professional in appearance and manners to passengers and any other person with the airport
SKILL and/or ABILITIES
- Must have schedule flexibility to adjust to the operational needs of the department i.e. weekends, holidays, and/or overnight
- Must be able to communicate effectively
