Job Summary

Under close supervision, provide preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and calibration to analytical instruments; HPLC, GC, Spectrophotometer, electronic and mechanical equipment. Perform installations. Document and report all repairs and product failures.

Provide preventive maintenance, IQ/OQ/PV, troubleshooting repair, calibration and technical support to analytical instruments; scales and balances, electronic and mechanical equipment. The incumbent does installation and trains customers in the equipment uses at customer sites. Services provided comply with manufacturer and industry guidelines.

Adapts equipment and technology to serve user needs.
 Assist with demonstrations and technical support calls.
 Perform Installations.
 Executes sequence of testing and calibration program for scales and balances according to blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, standards operating procedures and other specifications.
 Diagnoses equipment failures (breakdowns) and repairs per manufacturers guidelines.
 Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
 Confers with clients, group leader, and other technical workers to assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs techniques.
 Analyzes and converts test data, using mathematical formulas, and reports results and proposed modifications.
 Sets up test equipment and conducts tests on scales and balances.
 Disassembles and reassembles instruments and equipment, using hand tools, and inspects instruments and equipment for defects.
 Sketches plans for developing jigs, fixtures, instruments, and related nonstandard apparatus.
 Modifies performance and operation of component parts to specifications, using test equipment and precision instruments.
 Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
 Consults with clients on a regular basis regarding usage, placement and potential future needs of the equipment.
 Recommends corrective actions to the customer when needed.

EDUCATION
Requires 4-year college degree in Sciences or equivalent in work experience.
Requires minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in a regulated industry, laboratory or calibration environment.
Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferred

Driver's License a must
