Position Overview:

The Boeing Company is seeking motivated and talented Lean Practitioners to join the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Team in Berkeley, MO.

Our Team is currently hiring for experience levels including; Expert and Consultant Level Lean Practitioners.

The successful candidates will be a Lean+ / Operational Excellence expert to support One Boeing Production System implementation and maturity, and work collaboratively with BDS Plant manufacturing teams to drive Cost of Function project execution. These candidates will be responsible for working in partnership with BDS program / plant manufacturing teams and Fabrication Centers of Excellence, along with other stakeholders throughout the enterprise, to drive the integration of Lean+ / Operational Excellence best practices to enable world-class manufacturing system performance and efficiency. The successful candidates will be expected to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach with internal and external partners and leverage his/her knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, safety, quality, productivity, and affordability to shape the planning, development, and execution of Lean+ manufacturing solutions to satisfy program and fabrication needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Instructs others in continuous improvement tools and principles.
  • Develops and updates instructional materials.
  • Seeks out new tools and techniques.
  • Conducts Beta tests on new tools.
  • Tailors message to specific audience level.
  • Mentors instructors, experienced practitioners and leaders.
  • Guides the effective application and integration of LEAN implementation.
  • Leads and facilitates complex and high visibility process improvement efforts including AMW, BPSM, AIW, and other efforts as needed
  • Develops an integrated strategy and assists with its strategic deployment.
  • Applies and integrates improvement processes and tools across the extended enterprise.
  • Leads the development of new improvement tools.
  • Benchmarks best practices.
  • Leads and facilitates the improvement and standardization of enterprise policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the business acquisition, offset or proposal process.
  • Assesses business capability and capacity.
  • Represents the LEAN improvements function in program reviews.

The selected candidates will be required to work onsite at the listed location and will travel up to 50% to other BDS locations as needed.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Minimum five years of experience in problem solving and improvement projects.
  • Minimum five years of implementing Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., value stream analysis, single piece flow).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s Degree or higher.

Typical Education/Experience:

Expert (Level 4)

Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Consultant (Level 5)

Bachelor's degree and typically 15 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 13 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift.

Travel:

Position will require travel up to 50% of the time.

Bonus amount: US dollars (USD) $1,500.00

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Expert Level: $100,300.00 - $135,700.00

Summary pay range for Consultant Level: $126,650.00 - $171,350.00
