Bilingual Apprentice- Entry level flooring installer

-Must be fluent in Russian or Ukrainian and English.

-No experience necessary

We are looking to hire commercial flooring installers at all levels of experience. This is for installation of all types of ceramic, resilient and carpet. This is a physically demanding position that requires a lot of time kneeling on floors. We assist in providing the highest quality of knee pads and necessary personal protective equipment to make this type of work as safe as possible. Pay depends on experience.

Requirements:

-Over 18 minimum

-Must be drug free

-Valid driver’s license

-Must be able to lift up to 70lbs and be able to withstand extended periods of physical labor. All physical limitations potentially impacting these Requirements and Tasks must be disclosed during interview

-Must be available Monday-Friday 630am to 330pm up to 40 hours per week. Occasional weekends, evenings and out-of-town work is voluntary (time and half, double time and prevailing wage projects are often available)

-Most large or technical equipment is provided (buffer, heat welders, demo equipment) but all hand tools are provided by employee

-Wearing personal protective equipment

-Utilize safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment

-Positive attitude and a willingness to work well with others

Tasks (vary depending on experience and skill level):

-Installing carpet, resilient tile/sheet or tile (all or whatever is preferred)

-Tile: mud work, waterproofing, using wet saw, grouting (often epoxy)

-Resilient flooring: All work associated with floor prep such as self-level, skim coating and sanding. Installing VCT/LVT/LVP click and glue down. Installing sheet goods flat lay and cove with heat weld. Installing typical rubber base and resilient millwork

-Carpet: Mostly carpet tile but some rolled goods. Some projects require a ‘stretch-in’ installation but the majority are ‘glue-down’

-Apprentices/entry level positions: packing flooring materials, sweeping/vacuuming, general clean up, assist with flooring installations

Us: We are a locally owned commercial flooring business with mostly in-house, hourly installers (some sub-contract work is available to those who qualify- please inquire if applicable). Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $37.00 per hour
