SUMMARY

The person who fills this position will work with Rajan Kulkarni, MD, Ph.D. and his group, to provide critical biostatistical and bioinformatics support on key data sets related to melanoma and other cancers and their recurrence with the goal of enabling translational studies. Research projects include studies of methods for identifying melanoma signatures in the blood and collaboration with other groups performing similar projects. The candidate will carry out advanced data analyses using appropriate computational and statistical methods. He/she will also organize the data and manage the data in databases. The candidate will interface with bench biologists and help to design data generation experiments (such as RNA sequencing, exome sequencing, etc) and analyze the resulting data sets

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required: Masters level degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, or a related field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

English language proficiency is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Statistical knowledge and operational knowledge of algebra and calculus

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Proficiency in Python, R, and other programming languages
• Experience with database software such as Access

REASONING ABILITY

• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
