The Building & Grounds Leader performs technical grounds maintenance of corporate and select offsite areas. Responsible for on and off site coordination and quality control of grounds workers and seasonal employees. Specific Responsibilities:

• Develop effective teams by instructing the proper usage of tools and equipment for safe and efficient operation: including proper landscape procedures and techniques.
• Determine departmental materials and equipment needs and work with outside contractors and suppliers.
• Create, plan, coordinate, supervise, and implement all aspects of landscape construction and maintenance including (but not limited to):
  • Planting
  • Pruning
  • Fertilizing
  • Watering
  • Integrated pest management
  • Plant health care
  • Hard surface repair and maintenance
  • Repair and maintenance of landscape equipment
  • Repair and maintenance of non-illuminated signage
  • Installation and removal of seasonal decorations
  • Snow removal and ice control
  • Maintain equipment database and spare parts inventory
  • Locate private utilities on all corporate grounds and requested locations per Diggers Hotline
  • Plant identification
  • Invasive species identification and control
  • Installation and maintenance of annual and perennial planting beds
  • Perform onsite work alone or as a team leader according to established industry and safety standards
  • Remain current in accepted horticultural practices and related regulatory compliance
  • Perform and supervise emergency maintenance safely and efficiently
  • Participation in engagement activity events
  • Other duties as assigned

• High School diploma or its equivalent
• 7-10 years of field experience required, or a postsecondary education degree in horticulture, arboriculture, forestry, or other related plant science field
• Effective oral and written communication required
• Demonstrated organizational and supervisory skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently in all weather conditions
• Has knowledge in all aspects of buildings and grounds maintenance
• Possess the ability to climb, bend, stoop, and carry objects at a 50 pound minimum
