Overview and dimension of the position

This role encompasses Business analysis and identification of gaps through data available through reports, dashboards, and other KPI data sources. Supports the analysis and early stages of a project by mapping out processes, creating business requirements documentation, business cases for specific initiatives and supports the validation of impact to the business of initiatives already deployed through data analysis.

This person will provide support and ensures the interface between the users (internal or external users) and the solutions development teams. Analyse data to understand why and where errors occur, finds ways to work around them until they are corrected. He/she will understand business operations and proposes adequate evolution to properly support them.

Responsibilities:

  • responsible for business analysis and facilitates communication between Business and Technology teams
    • Identifies and represents business requirements from customer and end-users to software development teams
    • facilitates the definition of the user experience and translate it into specific requirements
    • Maps out business processes on current and future status.
    • Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
    • Supports certain aspects of projects to drive improvement and promotes process improvements and efficiency
  • Provides suggestions to the development team during the development stage of product to meet the business’ needs. Is responsible for deliverable quality and user satisfaction
    • Ensures the quality and the full adequacy of the solution with the business requirements.
    • Assists with functional testing and user acceptance testing of new software releases and ensures compliance of the delivered software with the users’ specifications.
    • Participates in promoting the new features and functionalities and participates to the Change Management.
  • Supports the creation of process guides and documentation
  • Supports Process Improvement discovery events.
  • Supports testing and other aspects of release to production activities.
  • Establishes ROI analysis with predetermined criteria and parameters.

Your Profile


Technical/ Functional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Visual modeling. Process mapping. Is able to develop workflow diagrams to map detailed processes in MS Visio.
  • Business requirements gathering. Is able to interview users, observe process in action and map out business processes. Understands relationship in inputs and outputs in between process steps.
  • Analysis, Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Can resolve simple to complex problems and apply critical thinking to evaluate multiple options. Users a variety of techniques to analyze a problem and possible solutions.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent communication skills. Can facilitate working meetings, ask good questions, listen to the answers and absorb what is being said.

Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in the field of computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent. Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis required
  • 2+ years of experience in projects associated to development of internal systems, major system implementations or customer website development preferred
