Our Opportunity
Martin, one of the nation's leading providers of custom-tailored solutions for maintenance, repair, and operations supplies (MRO) to the industrial and construction markets, is adding a Buyer to join our on-site location in Irvine, CA. The Buyer will work directly with the customer, the Site Manager, and Tool Crib Attendants. This TEAM will provide world-class support to our Customers to ensure the Martin motto of "Helping Companies Operate Better" comes to fruition.
Summary
Purchases materials, equipment, supplies, and services by prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures. Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions, investigates and develops sources of supplies, prepares routine bid specifications, issues bid requests, reviews quotations, interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, acting as a liaison between user departments and vendors.
What You'll Do
- Examines and analyzes departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; contacts department or initiator to clarify or complete information; determines the method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding.
- Identifies and selects vendors to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and delivery date, and places orders.
- Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
- Knowledge of materials, products, and the commodity market in the area of specialization
- Skill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications and bids.
- Creates and reviews purchase orders.
- Researched and resolved accounts payable issues, inputs edited, and retrieves purchasing data.
- Assists internal and external customers, answering inquiries both orally and in writing.
- Provides Customer Service in Tool Crib.
- Pulls orders for material on demand.
- Inquires into products per customer needs.
What You'll Need
- 3 Years of Purchasing Experience, in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Office 360
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
- Frequent Standing, and walking
