The Outdoor Seasonal Staff Recruitment Coordinator role is a position that moves our mission forward and helps change lives.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Outdoor Program, the Outdoor Seasonal Staff Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for recruitment and onboarding of seasonal camp staff, including developing long lasting relationships between universities, community colleges and high schools to recruit outdoor program seasonal summer camp staff and internship opportunities.
Major Responsibilities
- Create strong talent pipelines with universities, colleges, and high schools to attract enthusiastic summer camp staff and interns for current and future needs.
- Develop and coordinate internship program within outdoor program department and recruit interns for summer and off-season internship opportunities.
- Foster long-term relationships with past and potential candidates.
- Foster connections and relationships with GS alumni to build staffing pipelines.
- Developing communication methods that lead to GCNWI as a recognized brand for summer job and internship opportunities.
- Devise and implement staff recruitment strategies thru social media, video platforms, documents and print assets, sponsored job fairs.
- Coordinate annual routine tasks related to staff recruitment including job board postings, targeted email and other communication campaigns, and managing job fair logistics.
- Assist summer camp directors in identifying and hiring of summer staffing needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and build relationships with school counselors and career services staff at educational institutions including both high schools and colleges
- Coordinate scheduling of job fairs, schedule outdoor program staff to attend job fairs, attend job fairs
- Coordinate with HR department regarding staff onboarding and processing
- Assist directors with communication of staff information and assist with fielding questions
- Connect summer interns with camp directors, coordinate summer touch points and other internship requirements with interns
- Other duties as assigned
Experience, Skills, Qualifications, Competencies
- 3+ years' experience or equivalent education in staff recruitment and onboarding processes, relationship building, and techniques.
- Experience with youth camp, outdoor programs, or environmental education a plus
- Familiarity with social media, resume and hiring platforms, professional networks
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Organization and time management
- Diversity management and awareness
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance. Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis including overnights and weekends.
- Adaptable schedule, weekend and evening work.
- Ability to reprioritize projects as needed
- Effective technology application (Microsoft Office)
