All About You
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Business Programs, the Career Education Director provides direction and leadership for the Career Education Team while contributing to strategic plan execution through innovation, inclusion and impact.
They lead designing and implementing curricular and co-curricular programming for undergraduate and graduate business students in order to advance career development outcomes and enhance student experiences. Additionally, they serve as the liaison for Business School faculty and closely communicates and collaborates with staff in the Chaifetz School of Business, SLU Career Services, and other staff across campus.
Curriculum and Teaching Responsibilities (30%):
Supports Career Educators in designing and teaching responsive curriculum and innovative teaching practices through the BIZ 3000 Career Foundations course (aka Cura Personalis 3 for business students), MBA 6016 Professional Effectiveness series, and other courses as needed. Teaches at least one section of BIZ3000 per semester and provides additional classroom instruction as needed. Promotes experiential knowledge through close collaboration with faculty, staff and program directors in the Business School. Acts as the key point of contact to employers for credit-bearing internships and collects all relevant data related to these collaborations. Supports the Career Educators in providing relevant training and communication regarding career education initiatives to faculty and staff. Introduces the Chaifetz School’s career development resources to first semester business students in BIZ 1000 (aka Cura Personalis 1 for business students).
Programming and Outreach Responsibilities (60%):
Serves as the primary point of contact for the Career Education team within the Chaifetz community. Leads planning and designing of curricular career-related programs and events (e.g.workshops, classroom presentations, relevant professional development events, collaboration with Centers of Excellence, etc.); coordinates with stakeholders and serves as primary contact person; connects students and employers through these programs and events. Facilitates Chaifetz alumni-to-student engagement, special events, and coordination with SLU’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations and University Career Services. Regularly engages with professional communities and organizations, and conducts competitive research regarding similar programs to ensure Chaifetz students are offered innovative, up-to-date programming and career education. Collects, analyzes and reports data relevant to career education efficacy and organizational excellence.
Administrative Responsibilities (10%):
Provides leadership and guidance to the Career Education team while working towards the KPI goals outlined in the Chaifetz Strategic Plan Provides supervision and support to the Career Educators by conducting annual performance reviews, identifying professional development opportunities, and engaging in regular goal setting Provides supervision to Graduate Assistants

Qualifications:
Master’s degree required ; supplemented with five (5) years of relevant experience.
