Leads the development and execution of multiple holistic, enterprise-wide category management strategies, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, diversity, and risk management initiatives. Develops, executes, and manages sourcing strategies for complex categories using the FedEx sourcing methodology. Responsible for strategic functions including: evaluation of category/spend information, benchmarking, and making recommendations for sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard criteria. Develops category expertise, category management expertise, and market contacts, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders in all aspects of sourcing. Leads complex internal projects/programs. Develops negotiating strategy and leads negotiations to successful outcomes of significant corporate impact. Effectively interacts with executives. Acts with senior-level authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics or other quantitative discipline. Minimum four (4) years work experience in sourcing or related field. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Excellent analytical skills. Superior demonstrated skills with current technology tools/advances, and database/analytical tools. Proven interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Proven negotiating skills and project management skills.

Special Requirements:
Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Mathematics or other quantitative discipline plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of experience in sourcing, financial analysis or related field. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent * in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Mathematics or other quantitative discipline plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or 4 years of experience in sourcing, financial analysis or related field in lieu of a Master's degree plus 2 years of experience. Must have 2 years’ of experience with the following: Project management; Data Science and Analytics; Market research; Conducting RFP/RFQ/RFI events; Supplier negotiations; Risk and financial analysis; Supply Chain and Logistics management; Quality driven management and process improvement. Excellent knowledge of project management, current technology tools/advances, and database/analytical tools. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement. This position allows for telecommuting from home within commuting distance of Memphis, TN.
