Hiring for a Class A Driver

• Competitive pay: Average $1,288 per week, $66,976 per year

Starting pay of $85.89 per Flatbed load
Average 2-4 loads per day, average 3-4 hours per load

• Home daily
• Monday - Friday
• Flatbed loads picked up and delivered between Morrison, TN to LaVergne, TN and some Murfreesboro, TN
• Average run will take 3-4 hours round trip
• Average 2-4 loads a day/ 10-20 loads per week
• Driver will be responsible for securing steel, tarping and untarping: picking up coiled steel on a covered wagonDedicated local flatbed drivers enjoy the many privileges that come with having consistent customers. Unlike some driver positions, this one gives you a better idea of the number of miles and hours each week holds, which means you'll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And because you know your customers and their typical freight load, you'll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments.

Essential functions:

• Load freight -lift requirement: 80 lbs
• Unload freight - lift requirement: 80 lbs
• Move freight - force requirement: 54 lbs
• Lift and move side kits -lift requirements: 46 lbs
• Lift tarp - lift requirement: 110 lbs
• Apply and remove tarp(s) on load
• Secure load with chains and hardware -lift requirements: 80 lbs
• Climb onto and off the flatbed trailer
• Count freight
• Complete fuel tickets
• Complete delivery receipt
• Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs
• Perform pre-trip inspections
• Drive
• Extensive travel - ability to sit upright for extended periods of time.
• Regular predictable attendance

Job Requirements

• Must live within a 60-mile radius
• Minimum of 6 months' verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the past 3 years, no additional training required
• Minimum of 1-4 months' verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past year, 3 weeks of paid training
• Minimum of 6 months' verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 5 years, 1 week of paid training
• Must have Class A CDL
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• No convictions for Reckless driving within the past 5 years
• No convictions for DUI within the past 10 years
• No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
