ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro and the surrounding communities can receive a wide range of health services close to home. As part of the ECU Health system of care, the hospital offers high quality care provided by more than 20 medical specialists, rehabilitation services, a birthing center, a cancer center, outpatient clinics and more.

Position Summary

The Central Service Technician participates in collection, decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, wrapping, scanning, sterilizing, storage and distribution of reusable equipment and supplies. Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure efficient, safe and effective equipment and supply reprocessing. Models excellence in customer service, ensuring the highest standards for both internal and external customers.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma, Equivalent, or higher

Career Ladder

Level I:

• 1 year of Central Service Technician experience preferred

Level II:

• 2 years of Central Service Technician experience required

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) is preferred

Other Information

• 40 hours a week

• Monday - Friday (8 am - 4:30 pm)
