Position Summary:

The person in this position will be responsible for the provision of routine nursing services to clients. Essential job functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

• Able to perform CNA duties that are specific to the State of Florida.
• Conduct initial medical/nursing assessments of clients. Assist with new client intakes.
• Assist with the development of Client's Health Treatment Plan.
• Assist with maintaining client medical files.
• Administration of medication as ordered by Physician or APRN. Administration of non-prescription medication as needed.
• Inventory medications monthly and properly dispose of medication (following medication disposal protocol) as necessary.
• Coordinate Physician/APRN sessions with clients; document in the medical client record
• Documentation of all medication utilization, storage, etc.
• Document and appropriately report health needs and/or status changes of the client to supervisors.
• Monitor the status of patients to ensure that medical needs are addressed.
• Monitor client's weight and vital signs.
• Maintain adequate medical supplies.
• Write and submit required reports and/or provide appropriate data as needed.
• Reinforces clients personal hygiene habits.
• Work in collaboration with a Physician and/or APRN to assess the physical needs of the resident and implement a plan of care, as required.
• Orders interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to APRN or physician.
• Respond to any emergency situations that would necessitate intervention.
• Ensure that all required policies and procedures of WestCare are carried out.

• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant through Florida Certification Board
• 5 years experience working with adults in detoxification, homeless, or residential treatment settings preferred, 3 years experience required.
• Must pass a DCF Level 2 background clearance.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification as indicated above.
