POSITION TITLE: Choices of Children Teacher

REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood Programs

LOCATION: Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children (SSDHHC)
Clarks Summit, PA

JOB
DESCRIPTION: This is an exempt, 12 month, full-time position. Responsibilities include

providing hearing services to infants, toddlers and their families in home
or day care settings using the coaching model; attend Provider meetings

for the counties in NEPA, maintaining collaborative relationships with
service providers and team members from other disciples; will utilize
amplification/technology as well as troubleshooting devices and
equipment; assisting in the development and implementation of Family
Learning Weekends on an as needed basis; maintaining current data
files on Children for whom services are provided, attends LICC meetings
on a regular basis. This position will require significant travel.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: This is a non-PDE position; it is a Department of Public Welfare position.

WPSD requires an Instructional I or II certificate in Hearing Impaired.
This position is subject to the PA state regulations for early childhood
education.

PA State Police Criminal Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance,

FBI Clearance is required.

The Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) for this position is

“Intermediate.” The minimum level accepted at hire is “Survival Plus.”
