University Physicians’ Association is seeking an experienced Check-Out Receptionist for our growing practice at University Cancer Specialists, located at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

Job Type: Full-time; Monday - Friday

Check Out Receptionist duties:

• Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone
• Complete check out process within the EMR system by reviewing provider orders
• Schedule and reschedule appointments
• Frequently communicate with clinical staff including physicians, NPs, and RNs
• Schedule outbound referrals and forward all pertinent records
• Send/receive faxes as needed
• Maintain office security by following safety and HIPAA procedures
• Scan documents into EHR
• Properly direct patients to the lab and/or infusion
• Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing

• Must have the ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Medical Office setting required
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Must be a self-starter and a team player
• Excellent telephone etiquette
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Empathetic with good listening skills
• Experience with Cerner is a plus
