Job Title: Chemist
Location: Beltsville, MD, USA 20705
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Potential Temp to Perm)
Pay Rate: $30/hr. (Fixed)
Shift Time: 1st Shift; M-F (8 AM - 5 PM)
Job Description
- Plating Lab Technician is responsible for performing in house analysis of different chemical baths
- Safely pull samples from baths
- Test the samples per applicable procedures including titration, atomic spectroscopy, pH meter.
- Follow shop environmental health and safety protocol always including proper personal protection equipment (safety glasses, safety toes shoes, gloves, and chemically resistant apron)
- Log results in SPC and recommend additions or modifications to the tanks
- Assist with bath maintenance (including break down, cleaning, and set-up of lines, as well as additions)
Qualifications
- Course in Statistical Process Control Techniques
- Training / Experience in Atomic Spectroscopy
- Basic Algebra Skills
- Able to read and understand written instructions
- Certification / Course completed in electroplating and surface finishing technology from America
- Electroplater Society or an Associates or higher in Chemistry or other relevant degree.
- At Minimum need to be able to demonstrate the ability to use a pipette, read a burette and standardize a pH meter.
