As a Claims Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving AXA XL’s claims for the PRCB Commercial Bond team. You will handle claims on a wide variety of commercial and contract surety bonds, including performance and payment bonds, court bonds, license and permit bonds, and miscellaneous bonds. You will work closely with your manager and fellow claims handlers to drive files to resolution while interacting and collaborating frequently with our Surety underwriting team. Together, you will be tasked with achieving the best possible outcomes through proactive claims resolution.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Managing assigned surety and commercial bond claims across multiple jurisdictions as well as setting the strategy for resolving these claims in partnership with claims management.
• Implementing and enforcing subrogation and indemnity rights.
• Coordinating and managing communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Underwriting, reinsurers, external vendors, etc.) to ensure the highest level of customer service.
• Consulting with Practice Leaders and Claims management on Large Losses and ensuring all steps are taken to achieve the best outcome.
• Producing internal reporting and ensuring that reserves are set according to best practice guidelines.
• Travel, as required, to attend conferences, client meetings, broker meetings, etc.
• The pay range for this position is ($92,500– $145,500). Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

• 2-8 years of experience managing claims with demonstrated experience negotiating and settling claim files and preferred experience managing surety and commercial bond losses.
• Strong communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and sound judgment skills with the ability to take initiative and to work independently.
• Developing productive working relationships with insured, brokers, handlers and legal counsel seeking input from others as needed to achieve the best possible results. Additionally, we seek candidates who are capable of working and collaborating with virtual team members.
• Handling claims responsibilities with integrity and the highest standards of professionalism.
• Passion for results: Approaching tasks proactively and anticipating needs. Thinking quickly and prioritizing multiple work streams without sacrificing quality. Acting with a sense of urgency.
• Intellectual curiosity: A willingness to ask questions and explore new ideas. Eager to learn and focus on continuously improving technical skills.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree required
