Position Details:
Certified Nursing Assistant, Full-time, 40 hours/wk. Rotating schedule,12 hour shifts, Day, Evening and Night Shifts available.
Non-exempt, Hourly, Union
Benefits apply after 500 worked hour introductory period is met.
Position Summary:
Assists professional nursing personnel by performing simple treatment and related bedside resident care, using skills, duties, and standards as authorized by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Demonstrates general knowledge care for the elderly or recovering resident, incorporating compassion, and respect in delivery of care for residents. Safety and proper use of equipment are incorporated in care of residents. Performs duties in a professional, team-oriented, positive atmosphere to create a harmonious living environment for residents. Maintains communication with complete and appropriate charting, along with appropriate and required verbal information provided to professional nursing staff.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Course. CNA License issued from the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Current CPR Certification. Successful completion of orientation.
Job Knowledge:
May work 4 months as an NA while obtaining certification after completion of OSBN approved nurse's assistant course. Responsible to understand and implement CNA duties as described by the Oregon State Board of Nursing: “Authorized Duties for CNA's” and “Standards of Care for CNA's”.
Skills:
Ability to use tact in dealing with varying situations. Does not discuss personal problems with residents. Treat each resident as an individual on basis of need with considerate care. Adhere to instructions issued by professional nurses and to established facility policies and responsibilities. Handle and serve residents in manner conducive to the safety and comfort, and within limits defined by the facilities policies. Ability to work under pressure.
