Overview
This is a full-time position between the hours of 6am-2:30pm. This position is primarily responsible for the set-up and operation of machine shop equipment including, but not limited to, CNC machines (milling and Lathe) such as Fadal and HAAS machines, in a safe and efficient manner to meet operational quotas. Applicant must apply their expertise in a manner that best benefits the general operations of the machine shop including documentation, troubleshooting controls, improving work efficiency, conducting proper inspection to specs, and other job related duties.
This applicant must be a multi-tasker and able to work under tight deadlines and tight tolerances while also adhering to safety regulation standards. This position requires communication and contact with other machine operators, engineers, management, and other staff members.
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of related experience involving the set-up and operation of CNC machines.
- Knowledge of FANUC Controls and G-Codes.
- Knowledge of Fadal 30x60 or Fadal 30x80 or HAAS machines.
- Experience with using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
- High School/GED Diploma or Vocational/Technical school degree preferred.
- Ability to analyze, organize, plan, execute, and multi-task on projects.
- Possesses math skills required to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and other drawings.
- Possesses problem solving skills.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of machine shop/manufacturing industry.
- Ability to work on tight schedules, complete rush jobs as requested, in a precise and efficient manner.
- Consistently demonstrates commitment to the company values, plan, and vision.
- MUST BE A US CITIZEN
- MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER
- Spanish or Arabic as a secondary language is a plus!
- MUST be able to pass random drug test screenings.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned jobs in a timely manner, according to machine shop schedule.
- Maintain precision on all projects, according to specs on blueprints.
- Follow all safety guidelines as instructed by management at all times.
- Create and maintain a positive attitude and friendly/cooperative work environment.
- Actively participate in meetings, improvement strategies, and other support actions to drive company goals.
- Keep management informed of any issues or lack of efficiency on the machine shop floor.
- Assume responsibility for assigned projects or assignments.
- Maintain a clean and well maintained work area.
- Other responsibilities as requested by management.
Work Environment:
- This job requires all employees to be standing at a machine for up to 8-10 hours (approximately) per day.
- While working in the machine shop, employee is frequently exposed to typical machine shop conditions such as, but not limited to, airborne particles, noise, vibrations, dust, mist sprays.
- Overtime and weekend hours may be required, as projects demand.
- No travel is expected for this position.
- Applicants will be provided (by employer) steel toe shoes, eye protection, masks (as needed), heavy-lifting back braces, and other safety equipment required to perform your job duties.
Physical Requirements:
- Applicant must be able to lift up to 80lbs at one time.
- Applicant must be able to stand for a long period of time (between 8-10 hours per day) with no issues.
- Applicant may also be required to sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch and move about the machine shop at any given time.
