Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Performs tasks to provide WIC services. Promotes WIC services at community-based organizations and outpatient clinics. Performs assigned tasks to provide necessary and important community outreach series related to WIC services
Responsibilities:
- Provides community services referring patients from the WIC Program to network outpatient services such as Medicaid, Women's Health, Managed Care, PCAP and Pediatric Services
- Determines medical and financial eligibility of WIC applicants. Screen WIC applicants and begins certification process of NYWIC
- Prescreen all WIC Medical referrals to determine medical and other program eligibility. Screens financial documentation provided y the patient to determine financial eligibility
Minimum Qualifications
The ability to understand and carry out simple instructions. In some cases, the ability to speak Spanish may be required. There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. Good physical health and stamina may be required.
Department Preferences
Tour 2: 9:00am-5:00pm
Highschool Diploma/ GED preferred
Hospital/ healthcare experience in outpatient clinics or medical/ surgical practices in the registration of patients, verification of insurance/ method of payments, familiarity of medical records and medical practice office operations
Bilingual in Spanish/ Englsih preferred
Proficiency in Microsof Office Software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, ect.)
