About Tulsa Artist Fellowship
Tulsa Artist Fellowship was created with an intent to address the most pressing artistic challenges for contemporary artists and arts workers living in and joining the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tulsa Artist Fellowship is a place-based durational award and civic enhancement initiative of the George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF). Realizing GKFF’s vision grounded in social change, Tulsa Artist Fellowship serves as a model for mobilizing communities with the transformative power of art. Awardees are appointed through a merit-based open call process including panel review and interviews centering around the applicants’ individual artistic practice as well as their visions for engaging with Tulsa’s diverse residents. Tulsa Artist Fellowship’s studio facilities and housing are integrated into Tulsa’s Arts and Greenwood Districts, a vibrant cultural area with galleries, museums, green space, independent retailers and restaurants.
Position Purpose
Tulsa Artist Fellowship’s Community Partnerships Producer serves on the organization leadership team and is responsible for championing a thriving award and residency program for arts practitioners. This position reports to the Executive Director and primarily focuses on the cultivation and implementation of community partnership activity. They will seek out and sustain Tulsa Artist Fellowship public collaborations and relationships with local businesses, city leaders and agencies, cultural organizations and artists, community spaces, parks, social services, and educational institutions. Additionally, this role will support ongoing First Friday open studios events, awardee designation and onboarding processes, media and marketing content creation, program documentation, funder submissions and reporting, and budget management.
Position Details
This is a full-time, year-round position that averages a 40-hour work week with a benefits package that includes a studio/office space and access to shared studio facilities, paid time off, resources and flexibility to participate in field opportunities both as an artist and arts worker, travel opportunities, health insurance and 401(k). Relocation support would be provided if applicable.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with the Executive Director and Artistic Program Production staff, lead the development and implementation of community engagement activity in civic spaces throughout Tulsa and TAF sites including artist residencies in schools
- Work collaboratively to produce and bring audiences to First Friday open studios events
- Contribute to funder reporting, stakeholder relationship building and fundraising strategy efforts including drafting grant language, data collection, facilitating tours, and presentation of materials
- Support awardee selection process through reviewer and nominator invitations, co-designing and reviewing applicant materials, participating in top candidate interviews, and aiding awardee announcement responsibilities
- Collaboratively onboard awardees to program community, help to create a welcoming and safe environment for the duration of the award term, participating in ongoing awardee newsletter communication and reflection discussions, and developing opportunities to meaningfully engage past awardees
- Contribute to the design, production, and placement process of program signage, printed/digital collateral, media and marketing content
- Oversee project support needs for Program Spaces Department including space preparation and breakdown
- Identify opportunities for program documentation and work with Communications & Event Coordinator to capture photo and/or video footage
- Aid the program archiving process
- Responsible for overseeing any project-related guest reservations and travel, artwork loans and receiving, insurance, packing, shipping and coordination with institutional partners and lenders
- Manage project budgets and work with Operations staff to process invoice submissions, supply orders, equipment rentals, contractor billing, and generate accurate financial reports
- Contribute to TAF calendar organization, task assignment/tracking systems, guest booking, space and equipment reservations, and facilities/IT work tickets;
- Participate in staff development opportunities
- Ongoing awareness of cultural field trends and to make recommendations for relevant practices, studio resources, field participation and development opportunities
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Training:
- Practiced arts worker with an academic concentration in art, arts management, arts education or related field leadership experience in the arts and non-profit organizations
- Preferred leadership experience (formal or informal) in an organizational or community setting
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to proficiently utilize Microsoft office
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt new software such as Airtable, JotForm, SlideRoom, Slack, Dropbox, and Google Software platforms
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Skilled at organization, detail oriented, and capable of analyzing data;
- Capacity and willingness to support and collaborate with individuals with various identity and cultural backgrounds
- Commitment to interact respectfully, caringly, inclusively, and collaboratively with all employees, contractors, program participants, and members of the public
- Ability to maintain the highest ethics as they relate to all aspects of this position, and to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
Scheduling and Work Environment:
- Schedule determined around work project needs in partnership with Executive Director and will reflect an average of 40-hours per week: estimated 16-24-hours of in-person onsite work and 16-24 hours of offsite responsibilities both computer-based and field participation
- A typical work week is Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Position requires ongoing flexibility in work schedule due to weekend and evening events and staffing needs
- This position requires communication with others in-person, over the phone, over email, Slack, and other web platforms
- Onsite work will be performed in TAF’s shared office environment, assigned studio/office space, program spaces, and in communities served. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Noise at program events can rise above moderate levels for short periods of time
- Occasional transporting of supplies and equipment to and from events may be expected
- Work in-person indoor and outdoor events, First Fridays, and virtual events ranging from 1-hour to 8-hours; Audience size varies
