Job Purpose:
To administer the compensation function for the Cambridge Health Alliance including the merit program for nonunion employees, implementation of contract related salary adjustments for union employees and ongoing salary administration for union contracts. To manage the contractual allowances negotiated for each union. The role of the Compensation Specialist is to provide quality compensation related services to service department managers, candidates and staff. These functions are provided with the consistent goal of superior customer service. The incumbent will rely on existing systems and support mechanisms with a focus on continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Process all contractual step increases and all salary adjustments for union contracts.
- Coordinate and administer the contractual allowances negotiated for each union.
- Calculate all retroactive salary payment calculations required.
- Assist with the administration of compensation programs such as the merit program for nonunion employees and contract implementation for union employees.
- Conduct salary audits as requested.
- Respond to job description requests.
- Assist the Compensation Group with special projects, reports and spreadsheet work as required.
- QC audit Performance Evaluations and log receipt into Infor system. Manage the audit and tracking process.
- Determines Payroll Pay Groups (PPG) codes for newly hired employees and employees who transfer positions.
- Participates as needed in job analysis and equity analysis by reviewing employee resumes and job histories.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in health care and/or human resources. World at Work CCP certification highly desirable.
Work Experience: 1-3 years prior experience and/or related human resource experience is required with a high level of customer interaction in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office software applications including database and spreadsheet software.
Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
Must be able to work in a hybrid model.
