Position description
Provide leadership to the Mayo Clinic site with respect to compliance with the Mayo Clinic Integrity and Compliance Program, including the Mayo Clinic Code of Conduct and Compliance policies. Develop trusted relationships with site leadership and employees. Provide oversight and advice related to implementation of the elements of an effective compliance program, including local governance, education, policies, investigations, monitoring, enforcement and prevention. Collaborate with the Mayo Clinic Privacy team to conduct effective education sessions, answer site specific privacy questions, and perform privacy investigations. Assist with an annual plan and strategy for the Integrity and Compliance Office and for the site. Analyze and review data to identify regional compliance risk trends, and identify creative ways to mitigate risk. Perform and/or oversee investigations in collaboration with Human Resources and Legal, including those arising from hotline submissions and patient discrimination complaints Coordinate with other site and subject matter compliance officers to achieve integration of expertise, efficiencies and best practices. Participate in reporting and other administrative functions, both locally and in coordination with the Integrity and Compliance Office. Champion a sustainable culture of compliance in all operational areas that includes not only compliance with the law but compliance with Mayo Clinic's values and business ethic. This position will require occasional: overtime, presentations, leadership of committees or work groups, research and drafting website content. Routine, part time presence at Mayo facilities in assigned region is required.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree required. Minimum experience would include 5 years compliance experience and/or relevant healthcare experience.
Additional qualifications
Master's degree preferred in Business or Healthcare related field with three to five years of progressive experience in healthcare. A working knowledge of Mayo Clinic Governance and Organization is desirable. Demonstrated interpersonal skills for problem solving while eliciting information from poor or evasive communicators. Demonstrated successful collaboration with counterparts throughout the institution. Strong conflict resolution, complaint management mediation, and conflict negotiation and crisis intervention skills. Able to function objectively in hostile, sensitive and stressful situations, work autonomously, "think on one's feet," manage stress, anticipate improvise and synthesize extensive information to focus the issue. An understanding of various regulatory requirements, and the ability to assimilate and interpret policy and regulations into operational activities.
