About the Position:
The Specialist, Compliance, under the guidance of the Staff Counsel, Subawards and Subgrants and the General Counsel, will be responsible for ensuring that staff is in compliance with internal governance policies and procedures and all applicable terms from cooperative agreements and other funding source agreements. The Specialist will assist with timely revisions and updates to internal compliance policies and procedures.
This position is a non-legal position in the Legal Department.
Your Job Duties:
· Review the internal policy documents, including, but not limited to, disclaimers and disclosure; and governance policies for taskforces and workgroups, for compliance and recommending appropriate revisions and modifications
· Review cooperative agreements and other funding source agreements (revenue contracts and subgrants) for compliance
· Coordinate resources with various departments to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of their compliance documents
· Conduct ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks or compliance failures
· Ensure that all internal policy documents are uploaded to the third party policy management software
· Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit policies and procedures
· Implement policies, procedures and systems to provide operational support to various departments
· Ensure that APHL staff are following contract, procurement and Legal Department standard operating procedures (SOPs), answer staff questions related to those SOPs

Must Haves:
A Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of prior work experience or another combination of prior work experience and education that provides the required skills and knowledge for successful performance.
· MS Office applications with proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Prior experience with SharePoint strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of Navex Global’s PolicyTech, RiskRate and EthicsPoint desirable
· Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures, and other relevant regulatory standards.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Documenting and reporting skills.
· Highly organized.
· Self-motivated
· Attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,400.00 - $67,500.00 per year
