This is an entry level position, that is responsible for researching/monitoring state and local bills, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to the sale of regulated products (including but not limited to cigarettes, other tobacco products, eggs, dairy products, etc.), ensuring compliance with process and system controls as well as compliance with various state and local laws as they are enacted. Also responsible for coordinating with Sales/Merchandising to implement restrictions on the distribution of regulated products into specific jurisdictions, as necessary and ensuring McLane customers are appropriately licensed to receive regulated products for sale to end consumers. The responsibilities also include ensuring accurate and timely filing/processing of all McLane licenses to sell regulated products (including but not limited to cigarettes, other tobacco products, eggs, dairy products, etc.), ensuring compliance with process and system controls as well as compliance with various state and local laws pertaining to the sale of such regulated products. Finally, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely filing of PACT Act reports and filing/renewal of DBA/fictitious name applications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepare and process McLane license applications and renewals, ensuring entry of accurate, division-specific information.
- Prepare and submit electronic filings and EFT payment for license applications/renewals, as appropriate.
- Maintain and update Master License Tracker.
- Manage all license application/renewal deadlines to completion while meeting continuous processing and management demands.
- Draft correspondence and respond to questions from licensing authorities.
- Ensure appropriate record retention of licensing activity and related information.
- Prepare and file PACT Act reports for each division.
- File/renew divisional DBAs/fictitious names.
- Monitor enactment of bills, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to the sale of regulated products.
- Research and analyze such bills, regulations, and ordinances to determine impact on McLane operations.
- Recommend appropriate operational changes or restrictions on distribution of regulated products, as necessary.
- Communicate regularly with, and respond to questions from, Sales/Merchandising to ensure awareness of regulatory changes impacting operations or distribution of regulated products to McLane customers.
- Coordinate with Sales/Merchandising to implement restrictions on the distribution of regulated products, as necessary.
- Maintain and update Master Bill/Ordinance Tracker.
- Draft correspondence to regulatory authorities.
- Develop relationships with regulatory authorities.
- Perform diligence on current and potential customers to evaluate potential compliance risks and plan for appropriate processes for monitoring and reporting.
- Conduct periodic audits of customer licensure.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Compliance Manager.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 4+ years business experience, preferably with regulatory agency or in a regulated industry.
- Administrative Assistant experience highly preferred.
- College Degree preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines.
- Ability to quickly adapt to process changes required by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
- Ability to work independently, perform basic research when necessary, and obtain any missing information when required.
